EKG Program Description
Our 5-Week EKG Program is designed to provide students with comprehensive training in electrocardiography. This program equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform EKG procedures, interpret basic strips, and ensure patient comfort and safety.

EXTERNSHIP is optional for students but strongly encouraged for those with no clinical background.

National Certified Electrocardiogram Technician

School Attire: Black scrub top required (available for purchase through the school for $30 not included in tuition price) and closed-toe footwear.

EKG Program & Course Assignments
The EKG program is one of the programs offered by Vital Medical Institute, located in Virginia.
Course Objectives:

Patient Comfort and Safety: Proper patient identification, vital sign monitoring, and ensuring a safe testing environment, infection control practices while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

ECG Placement Techniques: Accurate electrode placement and adapting techniques for special populations.

ECG Recording and Interpretation: Recording waveforms, calculating heart rates, and recognizing basic rhythms, including life-threatening arrhythmias.
